Do you have a trip you have been dying to take, yet you just don’t have the funds? You would be surprised to know that many people are vacationing for free, and all it took was a little time and a little knowledge to get their journey started.
One of the first things you need to decide, is where you would like to travel. If you are looking to go abroad and don’t mind investing a little of your time and energy, look into volunteer options with various churches and charities. Many of which will cover the cost of your travel, room and board in exchange for a little humanitarianism.
If you are more adventurous, strap on a backpack and hit the road. Pack lightly, with just the bare essentials, like a sleeping bag, a few personal hygiene products, a couple changes of clothes and some water. As you begin your journey, remember to be friendly to all the people you meet along the way, you never know if that person will be the one that puts food in your belly or a roof over your head at night!
There are many different scenarios when it comes to vacationing for free. The time, effort and creativity you put into the prep work will determine how awesome and thrifty your vacation will be.
